Original Art Apocalyptic Soldiers 18" x 28"

The picture is in good condition but has a few minor spots and some very, very minor whitish water marks. The edges and corners have sustained some damage in the form of scuffs and dings. There are also a few very faint score marks from various bumps and moves over time. Overall, the dark red background hides most of the flaws. Proper framing and matting this piece would certainly hide such flaws. One score mark runs across the lower left corner but does not intersect the illustration. Again the red paper makes this harder to notice.

One of David's earliest ink illustrations, this picture measures 18" x 28" and is black ink on red paper faced illustration board (c. 1/8" thick). It is signed by David, very small along the edge of one of the fallen soldiers swords.

The illustration depicts soldiers from many wars, all fallen, beneath a nuclear mushroom cloud. Civil War, WWI, WWII, Napoleonic, Medieval, German, and Roman warriors are among the dead. A classic representation of all the different eras and game genres David illustrated in his later career. This item is unique.
