TSR '84 Unreleased Masters AD&D Battlesystem

Very rare pewter masters of the commander figures from the AD&D Battlesytem boxed set

The figures are in great shape with no damage. The commander with the shield at his foot has an open hand as if to hold a weapon but none came with the figure. This is the only set of these masters know to exist!

These miniatures are pewter masters for making new molds. After a miniature is sculpted out of green epoxy a mold is made and then the first masters are made. The masters are the figures used to make a new mold if the original mold wears out. The pewter is harder than lead and holds the detail of the original mold much better than lead.

David is the sculptor for these beautiful miniatures. He sculpted them for a potential TSR AD&D fantasy miniature line but the figures were never produced. However, these two figures, a cleric and a fighter, were produced. They were cast and put into the new AD&D Battlesystem boxed set of wargame rules as commander figures. They are marked TSR 1984 on the bottom.
