Original Tekumel Art, Notes and Letters
Holy Grail Original Tekumel Art Notes and Letters The Holy Grail of Original Tekumel Artwork, Illustration Notes, and Letters from M.A.R. Barker
The set is well preserved and has been carefully archived by David.
This is the working collection of David's Tekumel artwork with nearly 40 pieces of original pencil and ink sketches of the monsters, boats, peoples, palaces, and places of Tekumel. Many of these have original hand written notes by David and Prof. M.A.R. Barker. The two exchanged concepts, drawings, and letters in a collaborative effort to illustrate the Tekumel world. The earliest letter is dated 1975 (a photocopy) from M.A.R. Barker. There are hundreds of pages of photocopies with notes by David and M.A.R. Barker and hundreds more photocopies of M.A.R. Barker's hand draw sketches, sent to David as a part of this work in progress. The wealth of Tekumel artwork is incredible. Most of these pictures have never been printed and are works in progress. Many other will be instantly recognized for their place in the printed works of Tekumel. A few of the originals are designs for sculpting Tekumel miniatures. One is a splash page (I think) ready to have a photo image taken of it for printing.
The first two images (below) show all of the original Pen and Ink sketches and finished work. The next image offer a tiny sample of the photocopies with notes by David and M.A.R. Barker, photocopies sent to David by M.A.R. Barker, and letters from M.A.R. Barker. I'd estimate some 500 individual sheets! Nearly 30 years of work is represented by this collection.
If you are a Tekumel fan you must realize the importance of this collection. A once in a lifetime opportunity!
