Designed by L. Sprague de Camp for TSR’s famous author series this game reimagines the game of Roman checkers also called The Game of Robbers!

This set appears to have been played and has one dozen extra red and one dozen extra black checker pieces in addition to the complete sets of pawns. Perhaps the checker pieces were used in some sort of house variant to king or promote the pawns in some way?
