The Great Kingdom Secret Gygax Potato Salad KickStarter Reward!

Howdy All,

Update: The Great Kingdom Movie KickStarter has just 3 days left and they are nearing their goal to fund finishing work for the movie!

And now they are offering a whole new Secret Gygax Potato Salad KickStarter Reward! Yes, this is the Gygax family secret Gygax German Potato Salad recipe.

Backers at $10 level get the Gygax German Potato Salad recipe! Fantastically unhealthy with its share of bacon, and tasty with a dash of apple cider vinegar... could this be the hottest new snack food at the game table!

Backers at the $25 level, gets you the HD download of the documentary, PLUS the Potato Salad secret recipe!

Check it out!

The number of primary sources, contemporary documents and artifacts, vintage photos and footage, carefully researched recreations, amazingly faithful sets, and extensive location shooting make this a phenomenal, virtual temporal and spatial trip through the history of Dungeons & Dragons. Now they just need to raise enough support to do the finishing work.

Put together by the production team of Chris Haifley, James Sprattley and Andrew Pascal, they have really taken the first step toward making the world at large aware of the impact of this game on human culture. Anyway don't take my word for it, check it out for yourself, become a backer, and help get this movie made!

Charity Auction: 40th Anniversary D&D Game at Gary's House

Image

Howdy All,

The Collector's Trove and Gary Con would like to announce a charity auction as part of this year's Legends of Wargaming events.

This year is the 40th Anniversary of Dungeons & Dragons. In acknowledgement of this momentous occasion, Legends of Wargaming, as part of Gary Con, will be hosting four Dungeons & Dragons games at Gary Gygax’s former home in Lake Geneva! That's right the house where the Dungeons & Dragons game was born!

The games will use the original 1974 Dungeons & Dragons rules in the woodgrain boxed set and the adventure will be special indeed! A recent discovery by The Collector’s Trove has found one of TSR’s earliest published adventures by Gary Gygax! Used to demonstrate Dungeons & Dragons at Origins II in 1976, a number of copies were printed up as a free hand-out to those watching the demonstration. The most exciting part, the adventure is the fully fleshed-out first-level of Greyhawk Castle! Special sessions of this Dungeons & Dragons adventure will actually be run at 330 Center St. in the same house where Gary introduced Dungeons & Dragons and Greyhawk Castle to his son and daughter Ernie and Elise over 40 years ago. Could there be a more amazing way to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Dungeons & Dragons?

While the event is sold out, twelve additional tickets have been reserved for a charity auction to support Matt Damon’s water.org. All profits from the auction will go to water.org on behalf of the current homeowners of 330 Center St., Alex and Yolanda Frontany of Chicago, IL.

To get a chance to bid on tickets for this once in a lifetime event click HERE to go to the eBay auctions!

New Dungeons & Dragons Movie: The Great Kingdom

Hello All,

Just checked this out, pretty amazing, these guys have really taken on the Labors of Heracles to produce this movie. While I have a small part in this endeavor, it is really quite breathtaking what they have put together in just this brief 30 second trailer. The number of primary sources, contemporary documents and artifacts, vintage photos and footage, carefully researched recreations, amazingly faithful sets, and extensive location shooting make this a phenomenal, virtual temporal and spatial trip through the history of Dungeons & Dragons.

Put together by the production team of Chris Haifley, James Sprattley, and Andrew Pascal, they have really taken the first step toward making the world at large aware of the impact of this game on human culture. Anyway don't take my word for it, check it out for yourself...
