E. Gary Gygax Auction Fantastic Success!

Howdy All!

The latest auction for the E. Gary Gygax Collection has ended and what an ending!

The auction offered over 300 lots including some of the rarest and most sought after RPG and wargaming fanzines, periodicals, and magazines. Included will be numerous periodicals produced by the various companies Gary worked with and designed for such as: TSR, NIPI, GDW, Troll Lord Games, Hekaforge, and many others.

Highlights of the record breaking auction included Gary’s inscribed library copy of Dragon Magazine Annual which sold for $66, a copy of The Tekumel Journal No 1 inscribed to Gygax and signed and dated by M.A.R. Barker in 1977 that went for $179, a collection of letters between Gary and Chris Bayliss, editor of S.E.W.A.R.S. which auctioned for $330, a copy of Polyhedron #1 which was bid up to $403, a complete set of Gary's Strategic Reviews which finished at over $1,200, and Gary's own copy of The Dragon #1 that ended at a staggering $2,500!

Thanks again to all who participated and for the many kind comments we received about the exceptional quality of The Collector's Trove auctions. Here is one of our favorite messages from a recent bidder:

"I do want to give you a pat on the back for holding the most amazing auctions I've ever seen for vintage D&D items. I'm not sure where you find these items but what a piece of RPG history you sell. Keep up the good work and maybe we'll all be lucky enough to outbid the guy who bought Dragon issue #1 for $2500.00...lol."
